The Old Sorting Office is a cosy and delightful Grade II listed holiday cottage located in the centre of the historic village of Hawarden, Flintshire, North Wales. It was built in 1909 and was used as the village sorting office until 1960. It was fully restored to a high standard in 2014 and is fully equipped with every modern convenience.

Our cottage is ideal for romantic breaks any time of the year and has the added luxury of a hot tub in a secluded private garden, just a few steps from a spacious lounge diner with open plan kitchen. A traditional bathroom with roll-top tub and shower offers more than enough room to swing a towel – across the feature landing you find an equally generous bedroom.

The village of Hawarden is full of history and is overlooked by Hawarden Castle, former home of British Prime Minister Sir William Ewart Gladstone. The Gladstone’s Library (St Deniol’s Library), a popular tourist stop  and Hawarden Church, are both just a few paces away from The Old Sorting Office. There are countryside walks you can take without using the car. The historic city of Chester lies close by, accessible by bus or car.

The cottage has Sky TV, WiFi, gas central heating throughout and private off road parking, food shopping and pubs within a few paces of the front door. Read more about our location in Hawarden, Flintshire, here.
