The Old Sorting Office is a comprehensively equipped holiday cottage equipped with all a couple needs to provide an excellent getaway, whether on holiday, taking a romantic treat or needing a quiet space in which to work.

On the open plan ground floor the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher and table and chairs. We have an arrangement with the Post Office next door where you can purchase food, drink and other items at a 10% discount. There are a number of pubs and restaurants close by.

At the other end of the ground floor you find a large corner sofa with Sky TV and a dining area for two. A feature of this room is the original Post Office safe.

A courtyard garden is accessed through patio doors. It has a hot tub and a barbecue for the private use of our guests.

A feature spiral staircase takes you upstairs to two rooms – on one side a large double bedroom with a king-size bed, dressing table, wardrobe and chairs; on the other a luxury bathroom with roll-top bath, separate shower, sink and WC.

The cottage benefits from WiFi.

Restrictions and requirements

The Old Sorting Office Hawarden is most suited to a single person or a couple and bookings will usually only be taken for a maximum of two people.

There are two further booking restrictions – children and pets cannot be accommodated and The Old Sorting Office is a fully non-smoking facility.

Guests are asked to respect their close proximity to others living in the village and not make excessive noise late at night.

Please be aware that access to the bedroom and only bathroom is via a spiral staircase with open treads.
